loxford01 Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 We have signed up to classroom cloud from Netsupport and are at the stage of user provisioning. There is a very long guide to follow for Entra user provisioning that requires an enterprise app to be created and a lot of rules to be added so that users can login with their Microsoft account into classroom cloud. Has anyone attempted this approach instead of the CSV option? There is a bit where the schema editor for user provisioning needs to be altered and the schema text from classroom cloud needs to overwrite this. I see a warning when saving that user provisioning could be affected and want to know if this will have any effect on the global accounts provisioning on out Microsoft tenant or is this only for the Classroom enterprise app that we have created? Sometimes Microsoft don't make clear their warnings.
Michael Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 It's simply a case of navigating to Organisation > All Users > Invite User > enter their school email address, then change the login provider to Microsoft from Classroom.cloud Specify the required permissions, then select Invite. Repeat for all required DSLs. 2
MW_NetSupport Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 @loxford01, this warning only refers to our classroom.cloud app and won't impact any other user provisioning you have setup. I've put together a couple of videos which walk through the setup, links below. Part 1 - Part 2 - 4
loxford01 Posted May 10, 2024 Author Posted May 10, 2024 (edited) @Michael Thanks for that very helpful and quick solution. I wonder why their customer support didn't recommend this option, would've saved me going through that 3 page guide. Edited May 10, 2024 by loxford01 1
dapaulio Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 I am currently in the process of setting this up for a school so following with interest 1
CrootUK Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 yep using this method for multiple schools, works OK guide is thorough enough to follow through. 1
loxford01 Posted May 17, 2024 Author Posted May 17, 2024 I did end up following through the 2 videos for Entra provisioning as we have 120 staff to provision but highly recommend to follow the videos shared by MW NetSupport rather than following through the PDF guide, so much easier to understand how it all works. 1
smithson83 Posted May 17, 2024 Posted May 17, 2024 This is perfect. This is my next step and I was about to ring support on Monday. I'm currently rolling Classroom.Cloud out after some testing and had only manually provisioned the test users. These videos are so clear and to the point... I'll be doing this on Monday... Thanks again. 1
