Has anyone ever had some new iPads not pickup their mdm server?

New set of 62 iPads, appear in ASM from the supplier, I assign them to a new MDM to bring them over to intune. about 1 in every 10 iPads is just setting up like its a personal device without trying to pull the configuration down.

I've searched for the serial numbers in ASM and the device is there and shows as being linked to the same MDM as the rest that are working.

Tried removing it and re-assigning it, tried updating to latest ios and reset, but it still just configures itself like a personal device.

Yep, looks identical to all the other ones that works. When running through the iPad setup its like its not got an mdm assigned, doesn't even try to load a profile or anything, just runs through the full setup like a consumer iPad.

Sounds like your MDM token has expired....

Have you tried the process on a different internet connection that's not behind any firewall or proxy (a dirty connection) we had issues with enrollment in the past and they didn't like our connection, worked seamlessly on the same proxied connection after enrollment.

That would stop them all enrolling, 51 of the same set have enrolled fine, it's just 11 that aren't!

I did take one home to try for that reason over the weekend, sadly same result.

I have assigned all 11 devices to another mdm, re-synced, assigned them back to the one I want them on, synced again, manually assigned their enrollment profile in intune and so far they now seem to be enrolling.

No idea what went on, but thanks for all the suggestions. Always frustrating when you have a whole set of identical devices with identical setups and they don't all do the same thing!!
