Hi,

I would appreciate some guidance / advice on how you've configured MS Teams for students use, especially in relation to the 'Apps' within MS Teams (I don't mean ability to restrict addition of apps with a specific team that a user may be a member of - hope that makes sense!)

Essentially, I want to control / restrict the ability for Students to browse/add Apps to their Teams (beyond what we want them to have).

I've manage to pin and auto install required apps for (groups of) users via App Setup Policies ok.

It's just the next step, as in do I have to allow / block the individual apps at organisation level first (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/manage-apps) and then / or setup App Permission Policies instead?

I am leaning towards App Permission Policies (as there are so many apps available!) but the issue appears to be that within the MS Team Admin Centre you cannot assign this specific policy to user groups, only individual users - which would be very time intensive regardless if i changed the default policy (which would apply to all) and then create another (role specific) policy combined with selecting every student or staff etc. (e.g. make default most restrictive, and then assign a custom policy to appropriate users).

Unfortunately, App Permission Polices unlike the other 10+ various MS Teams policies available, can't be assigned via Group Policy Assignment etc. Additionally, Policy Packages is not an option as it does not include App Permission Policies (and custom policies are now only available via MS Teams Premium! This didn't use to be the case historically, but that's a separate #rant ;)) So does this mean a scripted / scheduled PowerShell script is required to apply App Permission Policies to specific user groups?

Thanks,
