Lightspeed Filter and Alert

I'm just doing some testing of Lightspeed Filter and Alert.

 

Wondered if I could get some feedback from those who already have it in production and what they think of it. Mainly from an alerting perspective.

Works well here although we did have to turn off the Google Drive scanning as every time a teacher shared an image to a class (guessing via classroom) it would send multiple alerts. Imagine every time a picture of a knife or swastika appears you get 32 alerts. Times that by every History lesson, it gets a bit mad.

 

Since turning that off, its much better and would recommend it. For full disclosure, we did bring this up and an update was pushed out but we didn't test because we were happy with what it was doing.

So the issues I have with the alerting at the moment is when a user searches for something like "porn" no alert is sent. Then when added into Flagged Items it then sends a stupid email alert that doesn't include anything useful so the users have to actually go into the Lightspeed portal and click around to find out what has happened. It is also marginally annoying that with Alert you have to close down cases each time to trigger new email alerts for users, although I can see the point of it.

Lightspeed Alert will not alert when a user searches Porn, that’s the job of Lightspeed Filter to block it and Lightspeed Flagged Terms to report it.

 

Lightspeed Alert is in place to report on safeguarding concerns relating to self-harm, cyberbullying, school violence, explicit content and drugs.

Hi lmrogeres 

 

Did you guys go ahead with Filter and Alert in the end? If so, how's it been?

 

We're considering it and I'm looking through the internet for some indication of how people are getting on with it.
