Snipe IT - Email Settings

I've been using Snipe IT and think it's brilliant.

It's so easy to use and having come from managing assets in spreadsheets, I'm very pleased with what it can do.

 

Problem I have though is I can't get the email configuration working.

 

Snipe was setup for me by our IT Support contractor but as the software is open source/no support for free option, and can't get the email working either, they wont go any further with it.

I've tried looking into it myself, following recommendations on the internet, but have had zero luck. I can't even seem to figure out where these error logs are that it says to read after trying to send a test email - the logs don't seem to mention it.

 

We're use exchange online / O365 for our mail.

 

Is there anyone whose been in a similar situation help or point me in the right direction?

Followed through all of that - was my first port of call. Everything looks set correctly but it just doesn't work.

For my setup.

 

I created a Microsoft 365 account to use for email:

 

User: [email protected]

Pass: MyPassword!

 

I edited the .env file so that:

 

Mail_Mailer=smtp

Mail_host=smtp.office365.com

Mail_port=587

[email protected]

Mail_password= as above

[email protected]

Mail_from_name='Assets'

[email protected]

Mail_ReplyTo_Name='Snipe-IT'

Mail_Auto_Embed_Method='attachment'

Mail_TLS_Verify_Peer=true
