Does anyone have a contact at dell i can ring to get a quote on laptops. The contact i have doesnt seem to work there anymore and the internal contacts voicemail message is over a month out of date so not sure he is still there....

Is there a schools sales number to ring?

Any help much appreciated, even a dell reseller would be great....

Hiya,

We are an official DELL reseller that has been working with schools recently and saving money against actuall DELL education prices,

If you would like me to put a quote together for you feel free to email me your requirements and I'll get a quotation over to you asap,

I've had experience of Dell Business selling direct to one of the schools I work at at a lower price than Dell Schools will sell to the LEA, so it pays to shop around.

Dell have entered Channel now and will be doing more direct dealing with schools. The Business team have had their knuckles rapped for doing deals that undercut the education team, and the education team are now being more aggressive.

One thing some of the education team are doing is trying to work on a combined price ... if they know they are getting 400 units in an areas from 5 or 6 schools they will build that into the price ... the difficulty is when you don't get a lot of chat between schools so no-one compares prices.

Personally I have found dealing with Dell extremely irritating - slow to come back with quotes, and disorganised (had several emails saying that the order would be with me in 7 -10 days after it had turned up unannounced. I'd sooner pay a few more quid and get it from a reliable reseller.

Always remember when buying from Dell never accept the first quote they give you!

Different account managers offer different prices. I was quoting a School on Dell computers last week and told a few resellers, we all got different quotes back for the same kit.

One reseller told me he was a channel partner, but he was still quoted £800 more than me for the same kit and he had used Dell for years.

My advice is get quotes from some of your trusted resellers as well as Dell and you will be surprised at the difference in pricing for the same products.

I have been told the best time to buy from Dell is the end of the month, as they would generally lower cost's to hit their targets.

Good Luck
