Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone can recommend an off-the-shelf job ticketing system to use for reprographics requests?

We are already PaperCut customers so have requested pricing on their job ticketing module, however this will mean an upgrade from NG to MF for us too so I expect it is going to be extortionate!

Any other products out there?

We could build something in house with Power Automate / Forms but just looking to weigh up the options!

Thanks

Yes we use Freshdesk (free)

Could you setup a new queue for Reprographics jobs? Seems daft to implement an entirely different solution if you've already got one in place.

Yes, I could definitely do this to be fair - the paid plans on Freshdesk do allow custom fields which we could add for paper stock, binding etc. The Papercut solution is a lot more user friendly though when requesting job options and then gives the job operator a print room overview showing what is waiting for printing, what is awaiting further info, completed jobs, ability to sort by job type (colour/B&W, lamination etc so you can group jobs together).

There's a one off cost to buy an MFD licence which is a few hundred pounds, other than that, I don't think its anymore expensive year on year.

From memory price for NG to MF isn't that bad, its when you add the device licenses on for the copiers and your PUA where it can add up but its still cheap I think. Job ticketing I'm sure its per job ticketing queues its priced on, cannot find my notes from previous as I only ever had a few customers ever go for it. If I can find the details I will share.

Can I suggest you have a look at docQticket? It's a proper job ticketing solution, so it's not just about submitting a job with a ticket: it provides full management in the print room. Jobs are automatically priced, and best of all it also integrates with PaperCut (and others like Equitrac / Kofax, MyQ, SafeQ, Streamline NX, aQrate) so you can have the print room jobs automatically charged back to shared accounts and reported on within PaperCut. Full disclosure: my company makes this. Ticketed jobs can be submitted via printing (from Windows or Mac), uploaded via the browser, or emailed, and it will work with any Windows supported printer in Reprographics.

Thanks Gary! Do you have a link to you pricing model?

There's a central cost for the print room software which is priced per server (so invariably 1!) and then you buy blocks of client licences depending on how many users need to send ticketed jobs, so the cost per user for larger organisations is pretty cost effective. I don't have pricing I'm afraid as we don't usually sell direct, but it's sold by several channel partners of ours including Ricoh, Sharp, ASL, Apogee, Agilico, UTAX etc. If your current MFD supplier cannot provide you with a quote then please PM me and I'll get someone to contact you.
