How do you do it??

 

We have iSAMS, we are being told we need to get parents to check the contact/medical data we hold is correct, from what I can see and iSAMS support have confirmed we have no way of showing parents the medical data we hold, so how do we get them to confirm it is correct, without resubmitting everything each year, and then someone having to go through each pupil and compare it?

 

What we need:

 

Parent contact details confirmed.

Pupil Medical data confirmed.

A submission form to confirm they have checked, or details to be updated.

 

Ideally an iSAMS form would directly input the data into the system....

 

This has dragged on and I have no solution for SLT

This is still dragging on if anyone has any suggestions, currently going down the path of a Parent portal form that someone then has to export all the data from and manually update iSAMS!

We do it via our parents website - the info is extracted from SIMS and imported into that database periodically. Sadly it’s by CSV as what comes from the MIS is a bit of a beast and needs lots of cleaning up first.

 

Parents then check this and confirm, changing any details that are now incorrect or missing.

 

It’s admin heavy, as we then have to make those changes in the MIS and then do a new data import. We can at least acknowledge that the changes have been actioned before we have to re-import.

 

Everything is encrypted in storage of course, and the changes are cleared out once actioned.

We do ours through my school portal. We dumped the isams parent portal and went with them instead. Parents can read current data held within isams including medical and address data, then can request the change. You can set it to write back into isams but we’d rather see what’s changing then make the change ourselves.

How does it work with publishing academic reports from iSAMS?

Is it using an API to talk to iSAMS?

Does it do After school Clubs?

Video Parents evenings?

 

Would be nice to get all of it in one tool.

We’re quite a small school approx 250:students. We pay just under 2K per year, yes talks through an API, also has a club module with booking, can also run bookings through calendar events and deals with payment too.

 

Doesn’t do video parent evening though. Do you use SOCS? Links with that too
