Jay241 Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 So I am looking at getting 3CX for my work place, but we have multiple phone numbers that customers can call into. Is there any way that we can give the end users a way to differentiate those numbers without having to remember them? So for example, phone number 1 has a unique name of "Company 1" and the 2nd phone number has a name of "Company 2", and those names would be displayed on the SIP phone/webclient or application when it is ringing. We'd need this as it would determine how the receptionist answers the phone. (TLDR: We have 1 centralised receptionist for multiple offices that come under diff company names) If this isn't possible, any other suggestions?
speakercon Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 Yes you can name the DID and it will display that when an incoming call comes in next to the caller id, eg - 07777888999-Company1 2
Davit2005 Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 I'm pretty sure this works if you have the number in the phone book of the 3cx system similar to if the number was in your contacts on a mobile phone. 1
Bedders Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 We do it using Call Queues - the name of the queue appears when a call comes in. Digital Receptionist IVR directs people to press 1 for Accounts, that goes to an 'COMPANY NAME Accounts Queue' which is what the staff see on their phone. 1
MatthewL Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 You can name the DID or ring group which will display on the screen. You can also add numbers into the contacts which will show up too. 1
Jay241 Posted November 16, 2023 Author Posted November 16, 2023 Ah perfect so there are plenty of options. I don't mind which way its done, as long as it can be! Ty all 1
