Recommend me a third-party ID Badge printing firm?

I'm in the market for a replacement ID badge printing company due to dissatisfaction with the current supplier (changed hands, service nosedived).

 

This is for staff IDs.

 

Who're you using and would you recommend them? I'm interested in:

 

• Fast turnaround (3-5 days)
  
• Double-sided printing
  
• Range of supported badge types / technologies
  
• Lanyard printing
  
• Storing templates (so HR can order a "badge for Sarah Bloggs at School X" and they'll use the appropriate school badge/colours/card type)
  
• Reasonable cost
  

 

I've considered doing it inhouse, but I have no interest in my team getting stuck doing bus passes for students, so we're staying with a third party.

We use Digital ID for our lanyards and they also do printing too, but I can't comment on that side as we don't order those.

They have always been very helpful though and we've used them for years.

We use weprintlanyards.com. The card creation web interface is good. Usually turn up within 3 days.

We've just used http://www.theschoolprintshop.co.uk to do all our student ID badges, and I was very impressed with the service.

Was exactly a week between final design approval and us receiving the cards/lanyards.

6/1,200 had minor printing issues and were replaced without any hassle.

They do a pre-paid bundle service where you buy a set number of cards that you can draw down over time, so I assume they can keep your designs on file.

We use cardhero from Lesar, turnaround can be slow at times if only putting small numbers through
