Recommend me a laptop for gaming

My son is trying to play Fortnite on an old 3rd gen laptop and as you can imagine it runs pretty poor so I’m looking for recommendations for a better laptop for him.

 

It needs to be a laptop owning to lack of space but I don’t have a budget in mind so a used laptop would be fine. Battery wise it really doesn’t matter as it would be connected to the charger when in use.

 

Any ideas?

Yeah, a general use "middle of the road" laptop is gonna be £500 on its own. Adding in that little bit of gaming grunt adds to the price.

How tight is the pace? I know @ICTDirect_Dave had some SFF boxes that you could strap to the back of a monitor. Not sure about the GFX capabilities though.

It’s the usual story of being the youngest child so he gets the box room while his older sister gets the larger room with space for a fair sized desk.

 

I’m in discussions with mrs jobos to make space in the dining room for a proper desktop pc. We bought the house before the kids came along and it was plenty big enough for the two of us but now things are getting tight.

mine was an 8 core 8 16 thread ryzen with 3060 (17.3) was only £900 or £999 (it was nearly £300 or £400 off)

I have the DELL G15, which's price starts at around $700 for a basic model with an AMD Ryzen 5 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti graphics, and can go up to $1,500 or more for higher-end configurations with AMD Ryzen 7 processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 graphics.
