I remember I got that software installed on my first computer (1996) but could never do anything, just remember it had some predefined objects,, so like 3Ds Max wchich I used for a while.

Not had a proper look at the license (just about to head off to work), looks like it will be handy for media classes. Can you roll it out across school for free?

So looks unlikely you would be able to deploy across the network.

This restrictive licensing is likely to change, MS bought truespace earlier this year and released it free to compete with the OSS 3D programs like blender - which is cross platform and gaining a lot of momentum (certainly the blender screenshots and movies looks like it has the edge in terms of features at the moment)
