InstallShield: Unable to create InstallDriver Instance

Im trying to install IIS and i'm getting this error (Unable to create InstallDriver Instance).. It's not the first time i've had trouble installing things that use installshield.

 

Some people are saying that if you manualy register the Installsheild driver (by using "C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Driver\8\Intel 32\IDriver.exe" -Embedding or /REGSERVER) it will solve the problem. This hasn't solved it for me.

 

Im begining to wonder if its something to do with our XP build disk.

 

Any Feedback would be apreciated.

i think the school i work at had the same problem.

Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility

 

go to that link and download the file.

 

install and run and look for ISScript. remove it. reinstall install sheild

 

and it should work.

 

reply back with result.

Worked like a treat on my laptop. So i'm guessing it will do the same on the other few machines that are having the problem.
