Intune login times

Hi,

 

Just wondering what general login speeds do you get with intune?

 

Ours seem to be really slow (on the "please wait" screen in windows 10) we've had it before when teachers have been on that screen for 10+mins and you press ctrl alt del then esc and it instantly logs on.

 

But most times its quicker and the 2nd time is obviously quicker than the first log on time but it still seems above 4 mins.

 

I am assuming this isn't normal and i don't think its related to the internet.

 

Something seems to be taking a while on the please wait screen but we can't find what it is.

 

Also they do all have ssds in them

There are lots of people on Reddit commenting on issues with Intune so I assume there is an outage or something.

oh this has been since we moved over to intune, nearly a year now

That sounds like you either have the OOBE screen/options still showing and it's waiting for input till timeout, or haven't stripped all the rubbish apps out of your images. As they'll install for every user when they login first time if you didn't (e.g. xbox game bar etc etc those sort)

VMWare Logon Monitor might help, I'm sure I remember using it in the past for this sort of issue

A fresh logon on mine takes roughly 30-40seconds and then for the apps to all fire up in the tray and one drive to configure after boot about 30seconds more. Log on / off after this and its about 8-10seconds then 15-20seconds loading the apps in the tray.

 

I5 Laptops with 8GB Ram and all rubbish removed. Broadband line is a crappy FTTC 40Mbps line with about 10Mbps up.

Yeah there still is and it can be Intune deployed. Admin Templates -> System -> Display highly detailed status messages -> Enabled.

 

I actually turn that on for my personal windows machines as well.

Just tried it on mine at home but it tells you everything until the preparing windows (see screenshot below)

 

I had a meeting last week and raised it at the meeting anyway so will see what the outcome is

Another thing you could try is booting into safe mode with networking and see what happens and also checking event viewer for anything that is holding it up.
