Google Workspace - prevent saving of .exe files

Is there any way to prevent students from saving certain file types into their Google Drives?

I know you can do attachment compliance in GMail but anything like that in Google Drive?

I don't believe so, not with the first-party features, anyway. If I were wanting to do this I'd be thinking some kind of scripted gam commands to search for files across OUs with some subsequent reporting/actions off the back of it.

If you are on Plus you could use a Trust Rule to alert you if they try to share a particular type of fiel or a file with specific content and prevent them from doing so. You can also set the download policy on Chrome to prevent them downloading exe files.
