TheHyperTechie Posted May 29, 2023 Posted May 29, 2023 Hi all, not sure if this is the best forum to post this in. I have just taken on two schools that have a complete Arbor > Wonde synchronisation setup. They sync Arbor with Wonde for SSO magic badges and emoji passwords on their chromebooks. Edusync is used to sync users into Google and create their accounts. Essentially, I do not need to carry out any user provisioning, which is great. However, I just want to make sure I 100% know how the sync works... this is how I have worked in out (I think) 1. User/Employee is created in Arbor 2. Arbor syncs with Wonde and creates them a Wonde SSO log in. 3. Arbor syncs with Edusync to create their google account, and places them into the correct OU. Are Edusync and Wonde SSO two separate entities? I would love to know if any other schools are using this setup... Thanks!
Patrick Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 Pretty sure that's how It works at one of my schools with the same setup. Only issue I had is that Wonde was pulling reg groups and year groups through and was essentially making two of the same classes as the school is single form entry, so that made google classroom a bit messy.
CTIDTech Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 Yes, two vendors unlinked, therefore two lots of management and subscriptions! We went down the ClassLink route which was an all in one option for us, which saves time, training and money!

So just to confirm, if the school didn't have Edusync, would they still be able to use Wonde SSO for their Chromebooks with magic badges etc... Or is Edusync needed in order to create the SSO for users?
Julian Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 Wonde are a company the provide a data mangling service that allows multiple diffrent services to easily get dat from mutiple diffrent MIS systems. From a school persective, this mean not having to ente in the same data multiple times, just put the student and staff data into the MIS system, and accounts are automatically created on other systems (email, catering, homework, ...). Whilst Wonde does gets our schools data, we did not sign up to use them, rather we are using services that uses Wonde to get the data they need from our MIS system.
Alis_Klar Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 Do Wonde even still offer Magic Badge logins to new schools? This was a product where the school was the customer not an app being the customer as is the case most of the time. Nothing mentioned in their current marketing but they still have the Magic Badge/Code login option on their website so must still support old customers. It's not on the screen where they promote other services to schools MIS Data Recovery (interesting service) Holiday Activities eVouchers
Alis_Klar Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 Classlink seems very US centric. Can't find any UK MIS providers or UK content providers partnering with them?
CTIDTech Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 Which MIS are you using - Can you not ask them?

When I asked about their SSO product (which includes the various login options), they said it wasn't currently being offered and they were looking at their product offerings.
Alis_Klar Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 Which MIS are you using - Can you not ask them? We are using ScholarPack. I am also looking at cloudwise who are based in the Netherlands but have established UK presence.
TheHyperTechie Posted September 28, 2023 Author Posted September 28, 2023 Strange that they are not offering the SSO service anymore... I didn't actually implement it, the previous network manager did. I like the look of cloudwise that @Alis_Klar mentioned.
CTIDTech Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 I think Cloudwise is for Google log in only into Chromebooks only ( ) whereas I think ClassLink can do Win 10/11 and Chromebooks using AD Azure or Google. https://help.classlink.com/s/article/Sign-into-Windows-with-QuickCards#:~:text=Click%20Single%20Sign%2DOn%2C%20select,need%20it%20for%20Windows%20setup) & https://help.classlink.com/s/article/Logging-into-Chromebooks-Using-ClassLink so really depends on what your users are using in school and at home? Let us know what you think of both!

We're considering ClassLink - can I ask did you ever get it linked to Arbor? they're telling me they are unsure they can integrate?
vikpaw Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 Just had a MAT webinar looking at some tools, and they were offering MIS data backup (which i think is a great offer for securing core data); MyLogin for SSO which links to Microsoft/Google and there's a magic badge / emoji option, and Edusync which offers auto sync to Google, Microsoft and Apple. Not sure if i'm allowed to share, but i don't see any harm. Just skip ahead to 7:36, unless you want to see the MAT dashboard and features, only relevant to groups. If you're not on their MAT mailing / don't use the dashboard - highly recommended contacting them to get set up. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wJsrBnIgKHN6uh0qEPRyJoX_lSqC0_g0/view 3
CTIDTech Posted December 19, 2023 Posted December 19, 2023 They can use the API and I know they are working on MAT level data! If you have the data lake option in Arbor this may help. I would call them and speak to someone there to get a definitive answer. I think Odyssey Education sell this in the UK and should be able to help.
CloudwiseCOOL Posted January 9, 2024 Posted January 9, 2024 Cloudwise has the SSO to both Google and Microsoft (Azure/EntraID). It does work on managed Chrome devices and is in the final phase on the offering of offering the so called QR Badge / Picture login (kind of multi step education for students) on Managed Microsoft Devices.

Wonde have several sub-brands and they don't signpost between each other (which I find rather odd) https://mylogin.com/ MagicBadge on Chromebooks https://edusync.com/ MIS pull to populate Google / Microsoft or Apple Do they have a master plan to encourage all the apps that already use Wonde for MIS sync to get on board with SSO and password creation? This is my Dream!!!
TIOAOA Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 Can anyone give me an idea on the cost of edusync please
cjacksonuk Posted March 25, 2024 Posted March 25, 2024 I have a solution - didn't realise there were other offerings particularly. Wrote my own solution as I support a lot of schools in London and am also an Apple Consultant. https://consultants.apple.com/uk/profile/910285 Have been offering as a trial in a few of my schools but looking to make a commercial. Schools need a Microsoft Tenant with a sync solution already in place for that, as I use MS Federation and extract the data from there.
Danp Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 Can anyone give me an idea on the cost of edusync please I think it depends on pupil numbers. We have 300 and are on the primary package and pay £299+vat. This was in Feb 1

cjacksonuk Posted January 29, 2025 Posted January 29, 2025 I've been offering my sync solution - pulls data from MS and syncs with Apple. runs on a schedule every few hours. £300PA. Has been great so far as its enabled schools to use 'Share iPad' - teachers controlling devices etc - and more recently playing with SSO so apps like Teams signs in automatically.
