We currently use Impero Education Pro in our school and are coming to the end of our contract and wanting to have a look around for alternatives. So far I have found Netsupport DNA to be an interesting option however other classroom management systems seem to be either just for classroom teacher use or just for IT department use. Just wondering if there are any other quality systems out there that give control of a classroom to a teacher while also giving this and further admin control to the IT department.

I'm assuming the ability to remote-control screens, run software, lock workstations etc. We used AB Tutor before Impero. It's cheaper and very similar, but there's definitely some things that Impero does better.

We use it, pretty much as above. We do also use a link with AD and groups for giving/not giving access to the console and what rooms they have access to when using the console so something that would allow us to give specific users access and, depending on what room they are in, control what they have access to would be great

Classroom Cloud will do what you want then - permissions are very granular, you can link it to your MIS even, and give staff access to specific classes (eg. if you have 1:1 devices, it creates dynamic classrooms for you for those specific users etc...).

From an IT admin POV, it can't do WOL or running software directly from the IT admin section - but as an admin you have all the teacher level stuff too and can take over a suite and run software etc... Or you can watch individual machines/remove control them without taking over a full class.

Can CC block lists of bad words in urls etc?

Yes. It has a full online safety module available, which can alert on various things, depending on your settings. Or block sites, apps etc...

Senso Cloud (created by one of the guys who originally created Impero) and NetSupport are probably the two main competitors for Impero. I've seen mention of AB Tutor and Classroom Cloud before, though never really seen a demo of them. I also saw Lazarus at BETT this year, though I don't have any experience with them either.

We also use SENSO here - I think it does have some useful features, but I have never yet found a product that does everything we need - I think out the of the three main providers mentioned above they all have their key strengths which would make an excellent all round product if combined.

What's the url for Lazarus?

AB Tutor has a cloud version, not sure of the difference, but it's priced per computer not per teacher £625 for 0-250 devices.

Classroom.cloud is from NetSupport, written from scratch same way Senso is from Impero (although with a sane leader I assume) £4.50/device, so more expensive than AB Tutor Cloud at 139-250, 277-500, and 533 to 1000 computers

Don't see prices anywhere

Probably one of those contact us for pricing companies. They're a Spanish company trying to expand in the UK.

We're in the same boat. Our 2 secondaries have Impero Ed Pro OnSite with a Hybrid setup and at the moment for us EdPro features outweighs the 3 modules that Impero Cloud are offering until i get another demo (tomorrow) of the vloud platform.

Our Impero account manager has done us a great deal too and the thought of moving to a different system is kind better the devil you know.

Just remember that Impero Ed Pro is licensed on maximum concurrent connections and Impero Cloud is licensed on number students.

We are coming to the end of our contract and i do love Impero for PC managment but we have moved away from predominatly windows devices to 1:1 iPads and i dont feel like we have the safeguarding tracking we used to have when students either used laptops or workstaitons. everything iPad ive seen seems only to be use our web browser so we can track what goes on.

We use Netsupport DNA across the Trust, really good experience with it.

Safeguarding love it, good daily reports etc.

DM me if you want some more info, happy to discuss :)

What are you looking to do that Senso Cloud does not give you the ability to do? We are currently looking into a product for classroom management for a 1:1 deployment. We currently have a limited deployment of Impero, but looking to move to Senso.

Work reliably, usable, quick, instant reporting (that's instant in human terms, not "Shall I route your data via Neptune first?" terms). Even now, Senso feels like a constant product in beta.
