365 Applications Licensing

Hi

 

Am I able to the 365 Applications that are installed to a PC using a KMS server or does it have to be licensed using an A3/A5 licence on the 365 portal?

If you're installing the Office 365 local apps, these are licensed by your users being assigned A3/A5 licenses on the portal.

 

There is something called shared computer activation, which deals with activations on shared devices (eg laptop trolleys and IT suites), but that has been problematic in the past.

 

We're O365, but still have access to KMS activation, so continued to use the Office 2019 non-365 version of the local software. It works fine, but doesn't necessarily connect to O365 as neatly as O365 apps.
