Parental Responses at Parents Evening

Hi all,

 

I'm just looking at options for collecting parental responses to surveys at parents evenings and other school events. We need to survey parents when they come into school somehow. I guess like having a tablet in school that parents can fill in a survey on their way out.

 

I don't really want them sending SMS messages out with links to surveys so it would have to be something that could be completed whilst at the event. Has anyone set anything similar before? Any advice would be great if possible?

We've used two iPad's with a 365 form in the past. Worked well as far as I recall.

We have laptops available for them. We also put up posters with QR codes that link to the questionnaire so they can access it on their phones.

Ah yeah I forgot about that! A QR code to the form is also a great idea so they can do it on their phone

Consider installing kiosks or tablets in the school where parents can fill out survey forms before leaving. You can also organize the filling out of paper forms directly at the event and have a special box for collecting questionnaires. It is important to ensure that the process of completing the questionnaires is simple and convenient for parents to increase the likelihood of their participation.

If you use a visitor management system, not only will you have an accurate record of who is in the building should an emergency happen, but you could configure a one off survey either on sign in or sign out. This can be done using a reception kiosk and/or a QR code on a poster where they can sign in/out and also answer survey questions using their personal device

You could make it even easier by pre-registering them via email and sending them a QR code to use to sign in by displaying it at a kiosk.

 

You could also take it to the next level and allow the parents to choose from a list of available slots and book the visit time that suit them.
