Hi,

We have one workstation that is showing "No Internet" in Network and Internet settings but can get to the Internet and all Network resources.

what ever I do I cant get it to clear.

IP settings are pointing to the correct servers - Tried clearing IP config, setting IP config to static as appose to DHCP, still no joy.

Anyone got any ideas how to clear this?

Thanks

The stupid MS NLASVC which bases it's knowledge on been able to talk to external MS servers. There are ways around it with registry hacks. Sometimes I've found a simple ping of 8.8.8.8 resolves the issue.

Thanks - found the Reg hack and rebooted and all sorted.

There is an option to tell Windows what to use for the connectivity check rather than turning NLASVC off all by the registry hack I'm sure.

Yep, there is!

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\Services\NlaSvc\Parameters\Internet

Although I think Microsoft’s IPv6 Web probe, IPv4 and IPv6 DNS Probes are down as they don’t even work when I’m on my home internet connection, yet if I set the probes to Firefox/OpenDNS probes, it works perfectly fine.

I’ve logged a ticket with MS to see if this is broken on their end.
