What are people using to backup their Veeam backups to the cloud? I have seen Backblaze which seems really cheap at $5 per Tb per month, does this work with the free community edition of Veeam and is their any hidden costs?

Are there any other providers people would recommend?

We use backblaze but free version can't do it direct the Synology Nas we had use to offload to backblaze but the main version of veeam can fine. We have just centralised the backups on our network and switched to vul licensing which is alot cheaper then our renewal came out at by about £1000 for 20 vul instances this allowed us initially to backup a secondary and all the primarys in the trust so the primarys got a upgrade on the version.

Yeh i have just seen you can connect Backblaze to the NAS, so that could be a good option then. I'm assuming Backblaze are fully GDPR compliant? From what i can see they appear to be.

They have EU data centres. We never tried connecting it via the Nas as we centralised now with the vuls all connect to backblaze direct from veeam.

We use Peasoup, I was going to switch to another provider (I think Backblaze) however, found out that Peasoup keep an offline copy of your backups for a week which you have to request access to

Don’t know if that’s a feature of cloud-connect or just something Peasoup offer

We use Wasabi Hot Cloud Object Storage. The new version 12 of Veeam, due imminently will allow for direct Object storage backup, which will mean that Veeam can be used to backup directly to object storage, instead of offloading from the performance tier to the capacity tier,

Yeh if you already got Veeam then using Cloud Connect is super easy and just works. I got mine from Millgate as they already sort our Veeam licences so it was easy. I under purchased storage so going to up that this year I think.

How did you go about getting Wasabi?

Been running a trial and emailed them for an RCS quote based on storage calculations I worked out on the Veeam online calculator, https://calculator.veeam.com/vbr/, and they advised me to speak to a Veeam rep to get the "fully capacity" so they could see if RCS was a good fit for us?
