Hi all,

I will be downloading and installing M365 i.e. word, excel, outlook, etc onto a users PC. The user used to have 3 email accounts configured in Outlook 2016, is it possible to add additional accounts to the M365 Outlook version ?

Thanks all

If the 3 accounts are on M365 and the accounts have been delegated to the user, they will appear automatically in Outlook once the user is signed in.

Otherwise you will have to add them manually, which is the same process as in previous versions of Office.

Any reason why they have three separate accounts?

I'd look at rationalising those into either three aliases into one mailbox, or delegated/shared mailboxes attached to the primary account.

Thanks for the replies.

Yes it is a school finance.

They have the school finance email, a BACs email and the user names email. I mentioned in the past setting up aliases but they didn't want that, they wanted to be able to have 3 separate accounts showing in Outlook to see the emails separately for each account !!!

We'd have 1 x personal a/c and 2 x shared mailboxes for that.

As Dave has already mentioned I would convert the other two accounts into shared mailboxes these still show up as separate mailboxes with the added benefit of them not requiring a Office 365 Licence, also not needing separate passwords for each account plus you can remove delegation very easy and so on and so forth.

That old chestnut huh. Yes, I've had that from a few people here too.

Delegate access in M365 could be something to look at - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/allow-someone-else-to-manage-your-mail-and-calendar-41c40c04-3bd1-4d22-963a-28eafec25926. Login to the secondary accounts, and delegate access to the primary account.

If that doesn't work, change the secondary accounts to shared mailboxes and give the primary access permissions. The secondary mailboxes will then show up when the primary account is configured in Outlook - that's how ours are working here.

Edit - a couple of others beat me to it on shared mailboxes!
