My Local LEA don't seem very happy..

Are they saying Anydesk isn't secure? Or the fact that you're logging in from (presumably) a non-school device?

VPN + Remote desktop is always an option.

VPN and RDP using company owned device.

The thing with AnyDesk and TeamViewer is if these platforms get hacked your server is comprimised.

If you need to be working from home you shoudln't be using your home computer, should be a work provided device and you shouldn't be installing VPN software on your machine as you could transmit any nastys you may pick up on your PC. Cover your back work laptop with VPN on. AoVPN is best option.

We do use anydesk for the primary we look after and our LA uses TeamViewer to look after the primaries SIMS servers... I’m not totally comfortable either I would rather no external access to our internal network including vpn especially after stuff like poodle. We are mostly cloud based at the secondary but the primary its great being able to use AnyDesk when we aren’t on site…. Like Natalie Imbruglia I’m Torn

If your LA aren't happy with what you have in place, I would ask them what they suggest. As other have said I would use a VPN with RDP (that's what our LA uses), I would definitely use a work device and not my own personal device.

LEA kicked up a big fuss a while back and banned remote access a while back and blocked the ports. Fine I said, I won't work from home for free. No skin off my nose, I said! If a server craps itself during a windows update - it'll wait till Monday.

What is the cost of Anydesk?

we bought a 5 user license it was just over 1K from memory PA it was based on the number of techs you had using it to remote help others... we installed it on all the serves and classroom computers in the primary.
