Hi, We are a 2 form primary school and I am just about to setup 16 new iPads for our teachers. Mosyle has suggested I don't bother setting up the staff accounts in Apple School Manager, but only in Mosyle.

Just wanted to run this past all of you first and see if this was the best way to set them up, or would you suggest creating individual staff accounts in ASM, or both ASM & Mosyle?

TBH, not sure what the difference would be or why I have the option.

Doing it in Apple School Manager will give each staff member 200GB of iCloud storage for backup purposes (assuming they're logging in as [email protected]).

Depends how many "the only SEN evidence photos/school play video were on the iPad that's now full of jam/tea/red wine" incidents you get.

Can Mosyle sync accounts from/to ASM to avoid double-entry?

What on earth are Mosyle on about, if you are giving iPads to teachers then get them accounts in ASM so they can then use Apple Classroom…you will need to create the classes in ASM as well Edited by Brimstone

EDIT

They will probably not be using Apple Classroom. All the pupils have Chromebooks and use Google Classroom, the iPad's are mainly for taking photos of the work and will probably have Google Classroom installed.

Apple Classroom is NOT the same as Google Classroom, these products do 2 completely different things in the classroom with iPads.

Sounds like another waste of money if teachers are using iPads just to take photo's of student work, why would use Google Classroom then ( I can screenshot and capture and send this to the teacher using Google Classroom)

The school uses Google classroom for all of its teaching and will probably be used heavily on the staff iPads, along with a bunch of other well used apps / websites. The reason they got tablets and not pcs is so they can also, if needed take photos Edited by TwistedHelixis
