tg12 Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 Hi all, Throwing this out there in case anyone has worked out how to solve this, because I'm being pestered by teachers and have absolutely zero answers on it myself. A teacher is trying to use Blooklet, but since updating Smoothwall over the summer, the page fails to load correctly and just shows a blank page. Off the network, this works fine on the same device. I've tried unblocking every URL I've seen it request in the web filter, plus bypassing HTTPS inspection as I know web sockets are particularly sensitive to this, but I still cannot get it to work. Running the developer console as I try and load the page gives an error of "Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected end of input" for one of the many JavaScript things it is trying to run, so something isn't loading correctly, but I can't for the life of me see what! Any help greatly appreciated.
simpsonj Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 (edited) We just have blooket.com in a category set as allowed and it seems to be working fine. Is there anything 'above' it in the policies tables that could be blocking it? For example, it's also going to be in the Educational Games and Education and Reference categories. Alis_Klar Posted December 19, 2023 Posted December 19, 2023 Does blooket get abused by the students to play mindless games? It seems suspiciously popular on our logs. Also scratch projects hosting games.
dapaulio Posted December 19, 2023 Posted December 19, 2023 This is due to blooket cdn are being blocked. I can’t recall the servers you also need to unblocked but if you type blooket.com in to a site called planet cdn it will tell you what you need to unblock as well. They need to be unauthenticated traffic
sigma Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 Blooket used to get abused. Our pupils are blocked from creating or logging into accounts at school. They can only join a game by using a code issued by a teacher. They are blocked from searching for game codes at school. Inappropriate nicknames still happen from time to time.

Can you advise the URL's you blocked to lock Blooket down as you have?
sigma Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 (edited) These are in Impero format, so will need converting to the blocking tool of your choice: *id.blooket.com*sign* *id.blooket.com*forgot* *id.blooket.com*login* *dashboard.blooket.com/blooks* *dashboard.blooket.com/host* *dashboard.blooket.com/signup* *dashboard.blooket.com/login* Edited November 6, 2024 by sigma 1
