gpjt Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 (edited) Morning, I have few series 300 boards running from Windows 10 pc's and recently have found that the boards are identified (USB connected) and showing but when the user comes to orientate it, this cause the interactivity to break between the pen and the board. The software hangs a bit and eventually brings up the orientation screen, but pen doesn't work (pen is a confirmed one working) I fi reboot the PC the pen works again, but not accuratly hence the need to orientate. I've tried legacy drivers 5.18.16 BSOD one and also current ones 5.18.19. Can anyone offer any further advice please? TIA EDIT Think i've realised that it must be something to do with firmware, so i need to try and upgrade that first. Edited September 15, 2022 by gpjt
adamkirkz Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 Hi On occasion, some ActivBoard 300 series 78" with firmware 8.04 build 4 may have the pen work initially, but stop working when you open the likes of Chrome browser. This will then revert the firmware to a 8.04 build 0. In these instances, you can upgrade the firmware to 8.10 to resolve this issue, but only once you have rebooted and have the firmware showing correctly again (8.04 build 4). Alternatively, there is now a HID firmware (8.12.4) that does not rely on the ActivDriver to be used and will be treated as a HID device. This will get around any of the BSOD issues you may have experienced. The unsupported driver (5.18.16) should be used if you're using older generation of ActivBoards such as 1st and 2nd Generation where HID firmware was not possible. Please note you'll need to upgrade from 8.04 to 8.10 then to 8.12 for this to work correctly. Instructions can be found here: https://support.prometheanworld.com/s/article/1779?language=en_US#thirdgen Thanks Adam
