Windows 10 Slow Boot + Edge Slow Browsing

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon,

Super vague issue I think but not really sure where to start, since returning from the summer break I'm seeing a widespread issue across our network with Windows 10 being much slower to boot up and very slow browsing when using Edge.

I can't think of much that has changed other than restarting a few servers to install updates and the new cashless catering system that has gone in.

Just wondering if anybody else has seen these behaviours with Windows 10 or Edge recently?

Thanks

I was going to post similar, our logins are slow but even slower and can't work out why, wish I could offer a solution. Not made any changes to policies or image. Only thing we have done is out some unifi wifi6 access points in

Interestingly I'm seeing the same issue. We are seeing that they are much slower to get on/boot and can become unresponsive quite easily. It also seems to affect random PC's and not others. Reimaging ours seems to resolve the issue, but I can't narrow down exactly what is causing it. We don't use Sophos, and nothing has really changed over the holiday.

Hiya @timbo343

Thanks for your input, just wondering if you would disable Sophos on a per PC basis on some of the affected clients or more centrally?

I'd do it on a Per PC basis first. Disable tamper protection via central and turn off all the services in the Client on the computer or even better use SophosZap to remove Sophos from the machine for a short while whilst you test - that will rule out Sophos.

I've been finding Network Threat Protection can be a bit sensitive to things at the moment or even real time protection - you can disable Network Threat Protection in the client.
