jthompson Posted July 22, 2022 Posted July 22, 2022 Can't quite work out what to think about this. Customers of psychics and tarot readers are being tricked by online scammers into spending money on fake psychic and tarot readings. Psychics and Tarot Readers Are Under Siege By Instagram Scammers Impersonation is becoming one of the hottest issues in the world of mystical labor... The scammers typically copy all of their target’s photos and captions, create a new Instagram account that mirrors theirs as much as possible, and then start following and messaging people who follow the target. The impersonators—who often address the follower as “beloved” or “dear”—say they felt irresistibly compelled to reach out, that they need to urgently tell them something from their spirit guides, and offer to give the follower a reading, always for a price. Not wanting to make light of people's misfortune in being scammed, but I can't quite get a reading on my moral compass.

mavhc Posted July 22, 2022 Posted July 22, 2022 Seems like a legit problem, all we need to do is find the real psychics, get them to pass a test and get a certificate that they're authentic. I can't see any reason they'd reject my idea
TechMonkey Posted July 22, 2022 Posted July 22, 2022 The alternative is: Customers of psychics and tarot readers are being tricked by online psychics and tarot readers into spending money on psychic and tarot readings. Koldov Posted July 22, 2022 Posted July 22, 2022 To be fair they should have known before it happened and reported it to Instagram to get the 'fake' account banned in advance... 4
LeMarchand Posted July 22, 2022 Posted July 22, 2022 To be fair they should have known before it happened and reported it to Instagram to get the 'fake' account banned in advance... I had a similar thought a few years back when the New Forest Fairy Festival was shortened due to adverse weather; somehow none of the psychic types with stalls managed to warn the organisers. 2
mikeprice Posted July 22, 2022 Posted July 22, 2022 To be fair they should have known before it happened and reported it to Instagram to get the 'fake' account banned in advance... Well - it took longer for someone to post that then I was expecting!!!
