mikkydoos Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Hey all, Can't access our MS VLSC. Lets me log in but none of the links work... page just refreshes.... and hey, I only need to use it like right now! Been like that for two days. They haven't moved us to the Next Generation Volume Licensing ?? Cheers in advance
robyholmes Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 No problem here, although it does show this message once your logged in: 1
psydii Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 It may be because we also license through a CSP, but anything that we still have on OVS-ES that we'd traditionally get from the VLSC is currently available via educationstore.microsoft.com manage->products and services 1
LeMarchand Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 No problem here, although it does show this message once your logged in: Same here. 1
mikkydoos Posted June 7, 2022 Author Posted June 7, 2022 Hhhm. Thanks guys. WTF is going on then. Private browser sessions etc, cookies cleared. Lets me log in but no links work (apart from Help - which isn't helpful). I don't get the yellow message however. Where do I check the permissions for VLSC users? In VLSC I bet! Which I can't use.
LeMarchand Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 What browser are you using? Maybe MS has started to be picky. 1
ThatBoringBloke Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 We had this a while back. Tried on Firefox and it worked without issue. Weird. 1
mikkydoos Posted June 7, 2022 Author Posted June 7, 2022 What browser are you using? Maybe MS has started to be picky. Chrome, Firefox, IE11 (!!) All the same.... and on other PC's. Hhhhhmmmm. Must be my account.
LeMarchand Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Chrome, Firefox, IE11 (!!) Swallow your pride and try Edge? I was using Firefox when I tested, though, and IIRC I haven't set it up to present as Edge to VLSC. 1
mikkydoos Posted June 7, 2022 Author Posted June 7, 2022 Swallow your pride and try Edge? I was using Firefox when I tested, though, and IIRC I haven't set it up to present as Edge to VLSC. (Gulp) Edge = nope Chrome gives me Error Code E06. Page is just refreshing. Doing the same off site too. It must be my permissions. Blo*dy M$
mikkydoos Posted June 7, 2022 Author Posted June 7, 2022 They've moved us to the O365 Admin Centre version - WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME!!! They've hidden it well too. I was expecting it's own admin centre console hence I didn't see it... Its in Billing/Your Products/Volume Licensing. Again.... Blo*dy M$ Cheers for the input all. Hopefully this thread might help when everyone elses VLSC stops working!!!!
mikkydoos Posted June 7, 2022 Author Posted June 7, 2022 In fact, I was only after a download of Windows 10 Home (which I'm sure was in there). Now I can't get it !
LeMarchand Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 In fact, I was only after a download of Windows 10 Home (which I'm sure was in there). Now I can't get it ! Grab the tool from MS and create an ISO: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10 As long as you have a valid machine and/or key you should be good to go. 1

LeMarchand Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Ha. Yep... it was the license I needed too! Is it for a self-build? I've put W10 Home on some pretty old machines (that were properly licensed originally) without needing a key.
mikkydoos Posted June 7, 2022 Author Posted June 7, 2022 Yep. Big beasty gaming rig for a mates kid. The kid is SEN and wants it to look like the laptop they've already got. Don't need a key ? I'll install and see. I don't think I've ever even installed home.
LeMarchand Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 If an OS isn't already registered to the mobo you probably will need a key. I think there are ways to transfer a license these days (if the lappie is now superseded), or so it seemed when I looked at replacing the guts of my HTPC. (Which stalled when I couldn't get the new bits to boot and I've not had time to diagnose properly so no idea if it actually works).
