Hey all,

 

Can't access our MS VLSC. Lets me log in but none of the links work... page just refreshes.... and hey, I only need to use it like right now!

 

Been like that for two days.

 

 

They haven't moved us to the Next Generation Volume Licensing ??

It may be because we also license through a CSP, but anything that we still have on OVS-ES that we'd traditionally get from the VLSC is currently available via educationstore.microsoft.com

Hhhm. Thanks guys. WTF is going on then. Private browser sessions etc, cookies cleared. Lets me log in but no links work (apart from Help - which isn't helpful).

 

I don't get the yellow message however.

We had this a while back. Tried on Firefox and it worked without issue. Weird.

Swallow your pride and try Edge? I was using Firefox when I tested, though, and IIRC I haven't set it up to present as Edge to VLSC.

Chrome gives me Error Code E06.

They've moved us to the O365 Admin Centre version - WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME!!!

 

They've hidden it well too.

 

I was expecting it's own admin centre console hence I didn't see it... Its in Billing/Your Products/Volume Licensing.

Grab the tool from MS and create an ISO: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10

 

As long as you have a valid machine and/or key you should be good to go.

Is it for a self-build? I've put W10 Home on some pretty old machines (that were properly licensed originally) without needing a key.

Yep. Big beasty gaming rig for a mates kid. The kid is SEN and wants it to look like the laptop they've already got.

 

 

Don't need a key ? I'll install and see. I don't think I've ever even installed home.

If an OS isn't already registered to the mobo you probably will need a key. I think there are ways to transfer a license these days (if the lappie is now superseded), or so it seemed when I looked at replacing the guts of my HTPC. (Which stalled when I couldn't get the new bits to boot and I've not had time to diagnose properly so no idea if it actually works).
