[sims] Offline, Unlicensed SIMS server

Our college has requested we run an offline, unlicensed SIMS server after our license expires and we have moved to Bromcom.

 

My understanding is we can continue to run it without a license and will simply no longer receive updates.

 

Is this (a) legal and (b) possible? Would we be able to access all data we currently have?

We do exactly this for historic data pre-bromcom.

My 3 sites still have their SIMS VM. Might be turned on once or twice a year. I am hoping that, after 5(?) years or so they can be ditched completely as there are probably GDPR considerations.
