xicor Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 Hi All has anyone here received a google form from Richmond council that cannot be filled unless the user signs up to google ? they specifically say you need to have a google account. when challenged they say 90% of schools in Richmond use Google, my point is that its not right they force you to sign up to google just to fill in a form, my school uses Microsoft not Google something just doesn't sound right. what's your thoughts on this ? Thanks X
TwistedHelixis Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 We had the same issue but the other way round. We are a Google school but the LA send us stuff that they say needs a 365 account. Worked out we could login using our Google account to 365, so wasn't a big issue.
jthompson Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 If a particular Google Form is set to limit people to one response only, then it requires the respondant to be signed in to a Google account in order to submit the form. The council could, if they wanted, allow people to submit without being signed into Google, but that would allow people to make multiple submissions, which might be something they have chosen to avoid.
xicor Posted May 6, 2022 Author Posted May 6, 2022 I think its wrong forcing schools to either use Microsoft or Google especially when it comes to emails, they can use a form provider that requires a users email "regardless who its hosted with" instead of pushing this nonsense on schools and they are also sending me stats about how 90% of schools use google I don't even know where they are getting those stats from...
jthompson Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 True, but I guess Google Forms was already right there and representing a lot of convenience for them.
