tmoon-mint Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 I also use the English international ISO and this is my XML (nice and simple) so weird that yours wont work.
Koldov Posted April 21, 2022 Author Posted April 21, 2022 I think it might be that I had "en-gb" in mine and you seem to have "en-us" as your selected language. As it uses the XML for both download and install, I wonder if somehow it misses something it needs in one or the other (or are all the languages in the download)? EDIT: Anyway, first of many hurdles I'm sure...
DavR Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but just wanted to drop by and say thanks - I've been bashing my head against a wall with our Office 2019 installer all day, until I found this thread. '' was the silver bullet for us (we're Eng International on our Win 10 ISO also), changed that and both download and install started working. What a palaver. What was so wrong with releasing a nice ISO? Or at least make source files downloadable and installable.
TwistedHelixis Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 Just wondering if you push this out via GPO? If so, I assume it takes a while as it uninstalls the old version of Office first, how do the staff get on with the process, do you give them a heads up first?
DavR Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 I'm planning to roll it out when reinstalling workstations over the summer break. From experience, the uninstall/reinstall of Office is too long a process through a traditional startup script, especially if you've got a lot of machines going at once. 1
3s-gtech Posted June 28, 2022 Posted June 28, 2022 I moved staff to it last year, and now beginning on the student PCs. Had to make a few Group Policy changes to ensure it works properly and can update itself. Only done large scale within new images so far, but an install script should be okay if done out of hours, and room by room!
