Hiya,

I have two years groups of students who have their O365 assigned directly to them, and three years groups where the licence is assigned to a group, for example, "Intake19" and then the students in that group inherit the licence. Is there a simple way to find all the students who are inheriting their licence and assign them one directly?

Thank you

Stuart

P.S. There is a back story, and to fix it I need to do the above, even if only temporarily........

Couple of options, depending how the Groups are set up.

Could either be a local Security Group (within Local AD) that is synched to Azure AD (via Azure AD Connect) - for this open the properties of a known student account and check groups memberships etc. and work from there...

Or alternatively, may be a (dynamic) group created within Azure AD. If you don't know which group(s) again, find a known student account within Microsoft 365 Admin Centre, Click "Licenses and apps" tab, scroll down to view the various licenses and you will see one with:

This is inherited by group-based licensing and can't be changed here. Manage group-based licenses in the Azure portal.

Click the hyperlink, and this will take you to the specific group within Azure AD, and you can work from there.
