discoveranother Posted March 9, 2022 Posted March 9, 2022 Hi all, Anyone recommend any security locks \ cable for a PC Monitor in a school. I'm aware these are not simply 100% security proof and someone will always find a way, but any recommendations appreciated. Thanks
Norphy Posted March 9, 2022 Posted March 9, 2022 Like a Kensington lock, or something with a Mount which you glue to the monitor? 1
DavR Posted March 9, 2022 Posted March 9, 2022 I've always used Kensington when I've needed to lock things down, although perhaps a little expensive if all you're securing is a monitor. Is it a particularly expensive monitor, or just a vulnerable one? Most Kensington stuff relies on their branded locking slot of course, but you can buy glue on slots like this to attach a cable to - https://www.kensington.com/en-gb/p/products/security/lock-anchor-points-accessories/security-slot-adapter-kit-for-ultrabook/ 1
DavR Posted March 9, 2022 Posted March 9, 2022 Another idea - is there a wall or desk nearby you can fit a permanent mount to, so the screen is literally bolted down? 1
discoveranother Posted March 9, 2022 Author Posted March 9, 2022 Thanks all. Its just a vulnerable one. The Kensington do look the type to go for
Oaktech Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 I've used both - K-Lock and a bolt-down vesa mount. No massive preference either way. VESA mount was one like this: https://pc-safe.co.uk/products/desk-mounted-secure-monitor-bracket 1
