This leading independent school is searching for a 2nd Line IT Technician to join their community and help provide technical support to students, teachers and school staff. This role is based in Banstead with an excellent salary of £32,000 + unbeatable benefits such as free lunches, life assurance and use of the school's leisure facilities!

 

Role Overview

 

Providing a wide range of technical support and troubleshooting assistance over the phone, via email, and in-person, you will be the first point of contact for IT Support within the school's community.

 

Responsibilities:

 

● Respond to users' IT support inquiries and resolve them over the phone, via email or in person.

● Cover the 1st Line support Desk when required.

● Performing diagnostic tests to identify and resolve faults.

● Testing and evaluation of all new technology and applications before use.

● Maintaining accurate records of IT service desk requests by updating them and documenting them.

● Be available In the case of major technical issues or upgrades that are not possible to perform during regular working hours.

● Keeping up to date with new developments in software and hardware that could benefit the school.

● Training users on new systems by performing technical demonstrations to teach school staff operational procedures.

 

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

 

● Excellent written and oral communication skills.

● Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, OneNote, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Classroom, Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policies, AD Federation Services, MS Exchange, MS Lync and • MS Windows operating systems.

● Familiar with using School MIS systems.

● Background of working with Apple hardware and software.

● Strong knowledge of Server Virtualisation - VMWare.
