Just currently testing Endpoint manager for our iPad management and just wondering if anyone has experienced the same as me. I've supervised a device in Apple Configurator and added to Endpoint manager. I can create policies and push apps fine and everything is working great. However, I'm unable to manually uninstall apps on the device. I've checked all relevant restrictions and even removed the restrictions profile entirely from the device but still have the same issue.

The reason I ask is that there are a couple of apps that seem to have got stuck on the device. They are greyed out and when I try to open them I get a message saying 'unable to install, you must purchase this app to install it'. I have enough VPP licenses so really not sure what the issue is here. Even after removing the app from Endpoint manager, the greyed out app still is present on the device and I can't seem to get rid of it.

If anyone has experienced similar or knows of a way to fix it would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Have you installed via a synced vpp app in intune or added it via the store in intune.

Also if it's not letting you remove has your restriction policy got block deleting apps turned on?

Yeah via VPP...have checked and we have adequate licenses available.

These are the following restrictions in the profile that is on the devices. However even if I remove the profile I'm still unable to manually remove the apps...

Odd. I've only seen it not allow app removal when block deleting apps is enabled. Removing profile should allow the app to be removed is it all apps it doesn't allow removal of?

And all the profiles fully removed if you look in the profile list. Never seen one do this before as we have just gone through switching devices from one MDM to intune and once it was dep enrolled to intune ot allowed removal of the old profile which let us do anything we wanted on the device till it renerolled into intune after an erase.

I have...is this what is causing it?

Yes this may be the cause, as you have a list of apps for the home screen profile it won't let you remove the apps until you remove the home screen profile.

Thank you so much! Removed the home screen layout profile and I can now remove them!
