Warwick_Tech Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 Hi All, This is just a precursory to see if there's any interest, or if anyone knows any charity organisations that would like these; I still have to offer them to staff and students - I may have coming up after Summer around 140 Dell Optiplex 7010 units, complete with monitors and stands, making them AIO units - They are * i5 (4th gen I think?) Quad Core * 8GB RAM (mostly 4GB sticks) * 240GB SSD (2.5" will be nuked) * No KB/Mouse but all other cables (Kettle, DP etc.) these are the 4 port USB versions with 4 RAM slots Really sad to see these go TBH, they are fantastic machines - you can bitlocker them with a BIOS update https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-uk/product-support/product/optiplex-7010/drivers O7010A29.exe I've also seen they do not officially support W11, but that seems to be a growing trend Reluctant to see these go as they are amazingly robust for workshop environments, especially with a 1M long cable tie.... 1
neonetman Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 We would definitely be interested in at least some of these as we're in dire straits for upgrading our tech. I'll get my colleague to post in here as well as he will be the point of contact.

Warwick_Tech Posted February 4, 2022 Author Posted February 4, 2022 Does anyone also know of any charities that might want this kit? Happy to give them a shout too
bigstan48 Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 What size screens do you have with these PCs? We may be interested. Thanks
TechiMCR Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 Would love to take some of these units of your hands. Would this be pick up only or could we arrange some sort of postage? Of course we would pay for all postage fees.Sadly this would be an upgrade for some of our machines!
Agzy1998 Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 These could be useful for us. how many do you have goiung spare at the minute?
Warwick_Tech Posted February 4, 2022 Author Posted February 4, 2022 Hey All, Sorry, forgot to mention these would be collection only due to size and weight - We are based down near Gatwick Airport I think the screens are 22-24" , Dell OEM - so again, good bargain....
TechiMCR Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 Will have to organise a road trip in the holidays! Would you be willing to part ways with 60 units? Would be great to upgrade some of our IT suites.
bigstan48 Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 We're not far from you. We could collect using the school minibus. The spec of your machine is much higher than some of the machines our teachers use!! How many would you be able to assign to us? Hey All, Sorry, forgot to mention these would be collection only due to size and weight - We are based down near Gatwick Airport I think the screens are 22-24" , Dell OEM - so again, good bargain....
Danp Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Does anyone also know of any charities that might want this kit? Happy to give them a shout too https://www.itschoolsafrica.org/ I've taken stuff to them before. They do collect as well
LeMarchand Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Does anyone also know of any charities that might want this kit? Happy to give them a shout too Yes, if you were close by; but if that were the case I'd be sending the minibus round!
Warwick_Tech Posted March 4, 2022 Author Posted March 4, 2022 Ok, first batch (60-70) is being pencilled for disposal Mon 11th April for that two week window (Though removal will start on the Monday) In order to be fair, I am posting this here to everyone as a first come, first served basis - The same entity may not be able to take the second batch.
bigstan48 Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 (edited) That's great - what are the collection details and what time will you open? Really excited! Thanks again. Edited March 4, 2022 by bigstan48
Warwick_Tech Posted June 17, 2022 Author Posted June 17, 2022 Hi All, Reviving this thread as we now have an additional 70 (maybe a couple more) going over the Summer Term. Once again, collection required, however to complicate matters SLT might want to use the screens for another project, so these might come without screens (unconfirmed as of yet)
bigstan48 Posted June 17, 2022 Posted June 17, 2022 Hi there I know I had some last time - but happy to collect some more if there is no interest from other members. Thanks again
