Senna. Prost. Schumacher. Hunt. Lauda... Lotus "water cooling and ball bearings..." I mean, I hope they don't watch Formula E next year and see what Dan Ticktum gets up to!

Schumacher taking the chequered flag in the pitlane, on his way to serve a stop/go penalty 20 yards after the end of the race. That one was a doozy. I think that's when post-race time penalties were brought in.
Boredguy Posted December 14, 2021 Posted December 14, 2021 Schumacher trying to take out Villeneuve in the 97 final (and failing as only he was immobilised) was the reason that points can be removed at the end of the season if the points leader purposefully tries to crash out their rival... Shame that wasn't a case for the Senna/Prost battle. There is a reason why the F1 Team owners called it the Piranha club back in the day

I saw someone claim it was "systemic racism", but I guess that only kicks in when you've equalled the number of most Championships ever claimed and earn $250,000 a day. I mean, did you see the video where he suggested that RedBull flat spotted their mediums on purpose so they had to change to the soft? They could change at any time, they didn't need to waste a set of tyres to swap. The guy is constantly spouting conspiracy theories and fueling his fans to go with them. Formula 1 rules dictate that the top three drivers in the championship must attend. "If there is any breach, there is no forgiveness in this," Ben Sulayem said. Apparently Lewis (Hamilton) might be contemplating retirement from F1. Even if he isn't this probably won't encourage him to take part in season 2022 onward.

I have not really got involved in this thread, but I did laugh when the quote "But rules are rules" appeared, especially after the recent FIA statement and lots of comments in this thread. Well other than not attending the gala as per regulations but he's got enough money to pay the fine. Seb nearly got fined one year due to his plane being delayed landing in Turkey, and Kimi was drunk to get his 3rd place one year. 1

Yeah, he was well p*ssed (and that's not passed ) that the outcome of the final race result wasn't purely as a result of the combination of car and driver. Not meeting contractual commitments is likely to lead to a fine, but at the end of the day there are people with emotions behind the saga. Remember the situation with Osaka in tennis, lots of sympathy, but still a $15,000 fine and treats of expulsion from the competition.
