Vortexbox jukebox front-end

We have an old PC which I've put vortexbox on to rip my CD collection.

We have another old touchscreen PC. I'd like to use the touchscreen as some kind of nice jukebox front-end for the Vortexbox. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Something that will display album art, let you swipe through the music and tap the one you want to play. That kind of thing.

 

I think you used to be able to download a version of Subsonic for the Pi that did something like this before it went paid and online.

 

Any suggestions?

Assuming you can nominate your VortexBox as the source, I think Plex should be able to do that. (Or just do it all as a Plex sever).

Should note that Subsonic is not paid nor online based. The paid version has more advanced features.

 

You could also use Airsonic, which is a fork of the original project with all features in for free. That's what I currently use.

I set up a pi3 with https://volumio.com/en/ at work to serve music over the tannoy. It has quite a nice web based front end all free also supports most pi high end dacs if thats what you want. It has freemium for high end streaming platforms but spotify is free.
