English UK/GB Keyboard Layout

Hi,

 

Has anybody got a fix to set the english UK keyboard before users log in?

 

The UK keyboard gets applied when they are logged in - causes issues with they try using the @ sign on the login screen

How are you deploying your images?

 

One option if you have an unattend.xml is you can use the InputLocale variable and set that to "en-GB", which'll set it for you, but this'll only work for future deployments.

Presumably if you use the HKLM key set to UK (809) it should work.

 

In the longer term you probably need to alter your image so it's set there and/or use the English International ISO to build from. (Why this isn't the default when downloading from VLSC when using a UK IP address, I don't know).

We make sure everything is set when the PC build, through SCCM or InTune. I think you can push out the Language pack and set it via registry, but I haven't done this specifically so don't have first hand experience

I've had to set up a few foreign language keyboard, and for that I've manipulated the language list using a PowerShell login script.

 

The commands are here, you could probably use something like Set-WinUserLanguageList and only include en-GB in your command.

 

If this is your new build, as others have said, sounds like you're using "English" rather than "English International" as your source, which is something to be aware of next time.
