saggu Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 Is anyone facing problem with opening LGFL mail? Even the website is not opening!
MartinByard Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 It might not be the website itself. We've been getting reports from some of our staff on Sky internet connections that they cannot connect to any website / vpn server / Skype4Business etc. with a .ac.uk address (I don't know what LGFLs address is, but just throwing this out as a general FYI for all).
PaddyNewman Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 Yup, something has gone pop within Sky, cannot access LGfL services, can get to the support.atomwide.com page but access to the public hosted auth fails. Tested from colleagues connection and internet is working but various hosts are not accessible, peering in Sky probably! ac.uk likely hosted by Janet under the hood, thats likely the problem. 1
free780 Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 Looks like Sky Broadband home connections may struggle to connect to JISC owned IPs. https://www.ionos-status.co.uk/ Anything with a JISC can’t have its DNS resolved. It’s always DNS. If your in sky I wonder what happens if you switch to cloud flare for your DNS?
Jcx500 Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 (edited) Im using sky at home. Logged into my home servers, 100% is dns. Changed my forwarders to google dns and it is working fine EDIT: Looks like a number of banks are having issue as well Edited August 20, 2021 by Jcx500
PaddyNewman Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 We've had no luck changing DNS, we can't even route to the IPs. 1
Davit2005 Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 We've had no luck changing DNS, we can't even route to the IPs. We have had a user test accessing via IP too, no good.
NokiX Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 Seemingly things are coming back now? Yep I can confirm, a few of my colleagues were affected and are now able to connect to affected services again.
Driftingforlife Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 Down detector went crazy, every service was getting reports. Looks ok now.
