Mandatory profiles, Folder redirection, ESR or UE-V. What do you use?

Just curious as to what you guys use/what you think is the best user profile method for a school environment?

Local Profiles with either UE-V or ESR (Just trailing this with our new Year 7 from September)

much faster login times after the initial logon

Local profiles with UEV and with the standard Desktop/start menu/Docs/Pics/etc Folder redirects.

We use folder redirection with U-EV, appears to work fine

Hi, an someone explain what they mean when they say local profile ?

 

e.g. is it just a case of in the ADUC user account properties leave the profile path empty

so on initial login it copies from C:\users\default user ?

 

I guess if you put something in that profile path your are then using roaming profiles ?

Yes that's it. No profile path set means local profile (Profile isn't copied or stored in a central place)
