Hi, does anyone know if it’s possible to move folders in Teams, as it only seems possible to move the individual contents of folders?

It just seems daft if folders cannot be moved, as the teaching staff want to move/copy entire folders.

Thanks

Hi Synaesthesia, One of the assistant heads tried to move a Teams folder in Sharepoint, but not all of his Teams are available in the “move to” list? Just wondered if you know why that might be please? I wondered if you can only move folders to Teams that you are the owner of??

Thanks in advance.

It often shows recent in the list, not them all. So open up the site you want to move it to and create a folder on it. Or just open a few files from it. Then go back and you should find it's in the recent list. Either than or click on 'Follow' and then it's in a 'Followed' list too.

He could open the source and destination folders in SharePoint and then do the move in SharePoint. Don't drag and drop folders though - I had the contents of a folder disappear doing that and it was difficult to recover.

Open the destination site in SharePoint and hit the 'Follow' star shape button. Then head back to the folder you want to move and give it a try, your followed site should the appear at the top of the selection
