Our well reputable independent education institution client in North London is seeking an IT Manager to join their IT department. The schools have a heritage of providing all-round education and facilities, and teaching students with independent mind, curiosity on and wide-range of knowledge. As an IT Manager, you will be managing a team of IT Support staff and will be responsible for deliver both IT and AV support in an effective and efficient way in a hands-on approach across the schools. This role also works closely with IT Infrastructure team and department head to meet support requirements and expectations. You will also be the key person to optimise the workflow, systems and work together with your team to ensure user satisfaction. Enhanced DBS check is required.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

 

· Day-to-day management of the IT Support Team and their workload

· Ensure team members handle, response, prioritise support tickets correctly in a timely and professional manner, and maintenance effectively, and provide out-of-hours support occasionally. Work together with the team and offer hands-on support

· Encourage professional development of the team, regularly expose to training, technical systems and support scenarios

· Make sure the team in line with policy and regulations and disciplinary guideline

· Work closely with IT infrastructure team and temporarily act as manager in their absence. And make sure the IT support team provide sufficient support to them when needed

· Create comprehensive documentation on support methods and solutions

· Review, analyse and improve the support channels, mechanisms, processes and tools and techniques for IT support, with a clear performance measurement

· Support department head on IT systems and services development based on users’ needs

 

Personal Qualifications and experience:

 

 

  • Strong experience of IT support. Preferably in the education sector and in management / team leading level
  • Excellent knowledge on end-user IT systems, Windows, Google G-suite, networks administration, Office, Mobile devices, hardware (printers, computers) and Remote support software

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to communicate technical terms and concepts to both technical and non-technical staff at all levels

· Great sense of user experience and aims to improve IT support and services continuously

· Well organised. Able to work under pressure and tight schedule

· Friendly, hands-on approach

· Willing to take responsibility

· Good sense of Health and Safety policies

· Enhanced DBS check is required
