[mdt] MDT seems stuck deploying 20H2 monitoring showing deployment still running

I've really struggled to get this far, as had constant MDT errors when trying to image to 20H2 even though 1909 has been working well for months.

 

I solved those problems this morning and my test PC now appears to get passed the point that previously would error.

 

However, a 1909 PC will image in around 45 minutes. (97 of 97 steps)

 

My test PC has so far been running the deployment for over an hour and is on 54 of 90 steps!

 

 

Is there anyway to find out what the PC is doing or waiting for?

 

Will it eventually time out and move to step 55?

Just a thought, I had MDT issues deploying a specific build of Reader DC on 20H2 that i didn't on 1909, the task sequence hung with a constant CPU of 26% until the whole sequence timed out. If you are deploying that you might do well to update the package. It might not be your specific issue, but it's worth a try.

I've kicked the imaging process off again and I had the error about an existing deployment in progress so I clicked to continue with that and it's now restarted and moved on to step 60 and stuck again!

 

Maybe I just need to clear this by keep restarting the process until it clears whatever is jamming it.

 

Then I can try a re-image with no apps selected.
