We have a number of these laptops that have a very strange networking issue in that the network connection keeps going unauthenticated after every second reboot. Doing a netsh winsock reset fixes it until another couple of reboots. When it goes to unauthenticated DNS doesn't work and no one can log on. This issue is present on both wired and wireless but only after we have loaded our school image. As standalone, the issue does not exist. Other laptops don't have this problem and we have tried with a different group policy and there is no change.

you've checked the pre and post image drivers for the network? I've taken to not deploying drivers with the image and allowing windows to fetch the latest.
