Office365 on a Chromebook

We're looking to launch a 1:1 laptop scheme, and for reasons of cost (among others) are wondering about Chromebooks despite being an Office365/Teams environment. I know it does work on Chromebooks because most things do, but does anyone have any experience of actually doing it? Is there anything we need to be mindful of, or indeed a reason you think we are mad and shouldn't consider this?

We have our chrome books running 0365 to a few students that have them, We have them on a strict GPO to help with performance and other apps not taking over the chome book. Runs well, Unsure about teams though.

Web based and Android versions should work fine. You can even configure the Chromebooks to login with your 365 Login. I would certainly consider why you're not moving to Google fully if you're looking at Chromebooks, but that's just me.

 

Yes, 365 works fine with Chromebooks. You might want to watch this, which will help you massively. As always, test before live!

That's how ours are set up. Office 365 login (I have to enter the username twice on the login screen!) then it goes through using our GW settings. Office 365 link is then on the GW dashboard.

Not just you at all, but let's not de-rail this thread by talking about that. We have considered it, and O365/Teams is a much more appropriate environment for us. Chromebooks are a low-cost way of accessing it.
