Role Overview

You will be responsible for driving the E-learning strategy forward as well as bringing together our client’s IT team. The successful candidate will need strong technical and operational skills, exceptional people management skills, and be able to bring strong IT governance experience across GDPR, data security, compliance and ITL.

 

Responsibilities:

 

● Develop and design our client’s IT and Digital Learning strategy and plan

● Provide IT advice that considers an innovative approach to all IT matters and remain aware of all IT developments that can be utilised within our client’s approach to IT

● Understand and consider the digital needs of all stakeholders

● Evaluate current IT software and hardware performance

● Be involved in future IT investments and budget, and ensure IT projects are delivered to realistic expectations

● Be responsible for all IT systems processes and policies

● Take responsibility for the overarching performance if the IT Help Desk

● Report to relevant stakeholders regarding IT Help Desk performance

● Ensure the IT infrastructure supports our client’s educational aims

● Ensure all of our client’s users have access to excellent quality IT facilities, including the through the online learning platforms

● Develop and organise online events for our client

● Provide advice on IT training

● Lead the data security and management protocols and testing, ensuring our client remains compliant

● Be aware of GDPR regulations, risks and any future updates

● Create and maintain a disaster recovery plan

● Help to recruit, train and review the process of IT staff

● Complete all paperwork for the IT department as necessary, including risk assessments relating to health and safety

 

 

Essential Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge:

 

● IT or professional business qualification

● Previous experience of managing a budget and strategic planning

● Previous IT team management and project management experience

● Knowledge of the following: Hypervisors (VMware), Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Windows Domain including Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Office 365, Windows 10, Antivirus, Firewall and Web Filtering management, Enterprise switch and router management (including IP routing), Enterprise printing (including MFDs), Enterprise wireless, School Management Information Systems, MacOSX, iOS, cashless catering systems, VLEs

● Comfortable working under pressure

● Enthusiastic, and capable of thinking innovatively and imaginatively

● Good problem solving skills

● Excellent organisational skills

 

Nice to have but not essential:

 

● Experience of working in IT in education environments

● Business analysis experience

● Experience of cloud data migration and cloud landscapes

● Experience managing apple products (iPads) in school environments

● Knowledge of SQL, iSAMS and managing an external IT support service contract
