[sims] SLG alert emails - pupils change of details etc Where is set up?

SOme of our administrator get an email about/called SLG Alert when a parent makes a change eg diettry is Halal or email changed or whatever. I don't know where they are coming from and can't find out. We do use Edulink so I think the parents are making a change on there, I guess that is emailing? but on the Data colelction tab (in edulink administrator panel) there are no staff in that section (see pic). So I don't know how / what / who is generating the emails that some admin staff are getting? Or is sims generating it but then what is the menu in sims?

 

Any ideas? I know this post doesn't appear to make much sense but hopefully somone knows what I'm on about

ok to answer my own question as it might help others - it is not edulink it is in https://admin.sims.co.uk/ and there on the left menu you go to Sims Parent> Settings> and there is list of school staff who are getting emails.

 

However further point - I don't actually know how these parents are sending these changes, how do I know if it is from edulink, or sims parent lite? Any way to know? Seems crazy I don't even know how they're doing it.

If the emails are going to the recipient(s) configured in SIMS Product Admin then it must be coming from SIMS Parent [Lite], right? You could also check the 'Data Collection' section of https://admin.sims.co.uk/ and see when parents last submitted data via SIMS Parent [Lite] and check that that matches with the emails received by the Admin staff. Presumably the from address of the emails should give it away too. The final clue is that SLG was an old Capita product (SIMS Learning Gateway) so that being in the subject line also points to it being from Capita. It's SIMS Parent/Capita sending the emails. Case closed!

 

You are correct, it's ridiculous that Capita don't allow school staff to see SIMS Parent or SIMS Student but then have most error messages say 'Contact the school'. The best you can do is look over a students shoulder or hope you have a member of staff who is also a parent.
